|Robert Olaf Eleeson, 80, of Brandon passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Sanford USD Medical Center due to a head injury after a fall earlier in the week.
Bob was born on June 17, 1933 in Sioux Falls, SD to Melvin and Alma (Bim) Eleeson. He graduated from Washington High School in 1952. On February 27, 1954, he was united in marriage with Helen Mae Anderson at Swedona Church in Brandon, SD. He served in the Marine Corps from 1953-1956 and was stationed at Lake Mead Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked at John Morrells in Sioux Falls, SD and was member of the Splitrock Lutheran Church in Brandon, SD.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to hunt geese and deer. He fished in the local lakes and the Missouri River for walleyes and northerns. He enjoyed attending his granddaughter Elise's basketball games, finding deals at garage sales, and having coffee with his friends each morning.
Bob leaves behind his wife Helen Mae, of Brandon, SD; son, Stevin (Connie) Eleeson of Valley Springs, SD, daughter, Dr. Susan Eleeson of Beresford, SD, and daughter, Sara (Jay) Eason of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren, Elise Maresh of Beresford, SD, and Wyatt and Zane Eason of Ankeny, IA; brother, David (Nancy) Eleeson of Kansas City, KS; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Harlan and Dorothy Wehde of Garretson, SD; special family friend, Linda Klein, many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Charlie.
