Celebration of Life Services

At Heritage Funeral Home, we promise to help create a service meaningful to you that acknowledges and celebrates the life of the person who has died and brings healing to the their family and friends.

Celebrating life means acknowledging the life of the person who has died. Your loved one had a very special life, he or she had beliefs, dreams, and things they loved that brought them joy. A meaningful service shares those things that were uniquely theirs and allows people to acknowledge and feel your loved ones life.

The person that died had an impact on everyone who attends their service.  It might have been strength, or humor, or stubbornness.  Whatever it was, it was a quality that touched people's lives.

A Celebration of Life service means sharing memories of the person and how they affected your life,  the adventures or quiet moments you shared, the ways they inspired you or the things they did to make you laugh.  Memories can be funny, sad, happy, bittersweet, but all of these tell a story of the deceased.

Creating a Celebration of Life Service

We believe that anyone can create a meaningful service for their loved one.  it can begin with the writing of the obituary, by acknowledging the life of the individual, their values, qualities and accomplishments.  For some, the obituary provides the only means they will have to reflect on the life of a family member, friend or colleague.

A meaningful service means many different things to many different people.  It might include a favorite poem, or playing the deceased's favorite music, or telling stories, or reading their favorite scripture passages.

A meaningful service might include picture boards of the deceased's life, or a DVD tribute, it might include displaying some of their favorite pastimes; ie: fishing pole, pool cue, hunting, golf clubs, automobiles, crocheting, knitting, incorporating their favorite foods or treats or candies at the visitation or service; an example at one mans visitation we had miniature snickers candy bars and cans of root beer set out, the deceased's favorite snacks.

Our funeral directors will listen to you and help you create a celebration of life service that captures the spirit of the person who has died and is meaningful to everyone who attends.
